New Ford Ranger for Sale in Oklahoma City | Bob Moore Ford

There was a world where mid-size pickup trucks were a consolation prize for folks who couldn’t afford a full-size pickup. These days, those sentiments have shifted drastically, with many opting for a better-equipped mid-size truck rather than a larger, less featured full-size truck. The new Ford Ranger is a perfect example of this. Of course, it’s more affordable than the Ford F-150, but that edge on pricing allows you to equip it with better features while still getting most of the functionality and power you’d find in a full-size truck. Mid-size trucks are also gaining popularity because they’re easier to live with. The smaller size means easier parking while unlocking more trails to venture down. The Ranger continues to be the pickup of choice for folks who prefer a mid-size frame, earning top marks from Car and Driver, plus a spot on their Editors’ Choice list. We’ll highlight the Ford Ranger fuel economy rating, features, and configuration options in the sections below. For a hands-on look at the new Ford truck, visit Bob Moore Ford dealer in OKC.

New Ford Ranger Towing Capacity

The Ranger comes with your choice of three engines. Base models are equipped with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder that makes 270 horsepower. If you prefer a bit more hustle from your pickup, we have a twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 that produces 315 horsepower. The Ford Ranger Raptor is the top dog in the lineup. It’s equipped with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6, which makes 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Since the Raptor prioritizes off-road thrills, it comes off the lot with a beefier suspension, increased ground clearance, and Fox 2.5-inch internal bypass shocks, to name a few. All pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission and can be had with RWD or AWD. The bigger engine will run from 0 to 60 in about 5.3 seconds. The two base engines are rated to tow 7,500 lbs. The Ranger Raptor can tow 5,510 lbs. The Ford Ranger max payload is 1,805 lbs for RWD models and 1,711 lbs for AWD models. While not the most fuel-efficient option on the market, it’s still better than full-size pickups, getting 21 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Ford Ranger Trim Levels and Features

The Ranger is only offered as a crew cab with a five-foot bed. You can find it in the following four trim levels:

  • Ford Ranger XL
  • Ford Ranger XLT
  • Ford Ranger Lariat
  • Ford Ranger Raptor

The Ranger is highly configurable, and we’d recommend getting one of the available towing packages if you plan on doing much hauling. The XL and XLT are a bit light on features, but offer an affordable entry point to new truck ownership. The Lariat has more modern amenities, including leather, memory seats with heat. Of course, the Raptor is the most attractive option, with a bold, in-your-face look and the features to back up its attitude. If you’d like to learn more about the difference between the trim levels, visit our OKC Ford dealership.

New Ranger Technology

Most models come equipped with a 10.1-inch infotainment display, but if you’d like more real estate, there’s a vertical 12-inch display that runs Ford’s latest software, which still connects you to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and in-dash navigation. An 8.0-inch or 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster accompanies the infotainment display. One of our favorite features is the cone-lighting on the XLT, which turns on lights outside the Ranger, helping to light up your workspace or campsite as needed. The Ford Ranger has plenty of safety technology onboard as well, with standard features like forward collision warnings and automated emergency braking. You can add additional features like adaptive cruise control as needed.
