The Next Generation of Technicians
Bob Moore Ford Hosts the Next Generation of Technicians from Moore Norman Technology Center
As a pillar of the Oklahoma City community, Bob Moore Ford regularly gets the opportunity to serve the community, partnering with local charities, athletic programs, and schools to better our city. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting the Moore Norman Technology Center School for Technicians! The Moore Norman Tech School trains the next generation of automotive technicians in the latest technologies and best practices, equipping them to get a job right after they finish the program. Moore Norman helps high school grads and adults obtain their Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certificate, certifying their ability to diagnose, problem-solve, and correct all sorts of auto issues. Their education encompasses all major vehicle systems, including everything from the powertrain to the electrical system. After they achieve their certificate, graduates are workforce-ready, with many of them moving on to Bob Moore Auto Group locations like Bob Moore Ford to start their careers!Â
Bob Moore Ford, Nissan & Cadillac Service Centers Welcome Future Technicians
Students had the opportunity to tour several Bob Moore Auto Group locations, including dealerships like Bob Moore Cadillac Norman and Bob Moore Nissan. Bob Moore Ford hosted about 30 students as they toured our workspaces. Students forged connections with our staff, networking with service managers and senior technicians with decades of experience. They got to interact with our latest technology as we took them behind the scenes and showed them what a day in the life of a technician at Bob Moore Ford looks like. They also got to check out our new locker room for techs, where each tech gets their own locker and personal space to prepare for their shift or unwind at the end of the day.
Preparing Technicians for The EV Future
As EVs age and accrue more miles, the next generation of technicians must know how to properly service models like the F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach E, and future all-electric models! While it’s important to show students how our team services EVs, they must also have their own resources to learn from. That’s why Bob Moore Auto Group donated $8,373.92 to Moore Norman, which was designated to help students learn how to repair electric vehicles. As students graduate with an ever-expanding education, it’s our hope many of them find a home at Bob Moore Ford so they can hone their skills.
