2025 Ford Bronco vs. Jeep Wrangler Model Comparison

The Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco have been butting heads for decades, offering different takes on the ultimate off-road SUV. The Bronco debuted in 1966 to wide acclaim and continued a successful run well into the 90s, when the nameplate was retired. Jeep has roots dating back to the 2nd World War, with the Wrangler as we know it today making its first appearance in the 80s. While both have had their peaks and valleys through the decades, they enter 2025 as two of the biggest names when you’re looking for a capable, trail-ready companion. While they share functionality and several key features, they offer different flavors to adventure-minded drivers. Jeep’s aesthetic is probably the most recognizable on the road, with its signature grille, round headlights, and boxy frame. Jeep keeps things classic, but has modernized a bit in recent years, recently adding power windows and air conditioning to all models in their lineup. Ford took 25 years off from producing the Bronco, only bringing it back as recently as 2021. As you’d expect, the Bronco adopts a sharp new design, and as a rule, typically comes with more base features than you’d find in a Jeep.

We don’t think you can go wrong with either model, but there are features unique to both models you’ll want to consider before making your purchase. We’ll compare both models based on performance, configurations, and features. Ford Bronco vs. Jeep Wrangler Off-Road Performance

Both models offer a wide range of engines and features that make them ideal for your next camping trip. Let’s start with the Ford Bronco, where you have a choice between a 300 horsepower turbo 2.3-liter four-cylinder or a 330 horsepower 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6. If you opt for the trim topping Ford Bronco Raptor, you’ll get 418 horses from a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6. An automatic transmission comes standard, but the smaller engine has an optional 7-speed manual. As you’d expect, the Bronco has four-wheel drive, with an independent front suspension. The Bronco makes off-roading easy with options like 35-inch mud tires, a sway-bar disconnect, locking rear and front differentials, and bead-lock-capable wheels. The Bronco is plenty impressive off-road, but we think it’s more impressive on the road, where it offers quiet, comfortable driving, making it perfect for everyday commuting. The Wrangler has a standard 285 horsepower 3.6-liter V6, a 270 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder, a 470 horsepower V8, and even a hybrid powertrain in its lineup. Jeep’s selection of engines is definitely more varied, though their two main engines fail to hit the power benchmarks set by the Bronco. If you want a V8 in your SUV, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition is what you’re looking for. Part-time all-wheel drive is standard for most Wranglers, with off-road options like 33-inch all-terrain tires, a 100:1 crawl ratio, and an electronic sway bar disconnect. There’s no arguing the Wrangler thrives in the great outdoors, but we find its livability doesn’t live up to the Bronco. The Wrangler is loud and bulky, without the more refined road manners and quiet cabin of the Bronco.

Bronco vs. Wrangler Interiors and Configurations

When it comes to configurations, the Bronco and Wrangler are pretty similar. Both offer a hardtop and a soft top removable roof, removable doors, and a two-door or four-door configuration. The Bronco is longer and wider than the Wrangler, enabling you to store more of your gear. The 2025 Ford Bronco cargo capacity varies based on your configuration, but if you opt for a four-door, hardtop, you’ll find 35.6 cubic feet of space in the rear with up to 77.6 total cubic feet to take advantage of. The Wrangler isn’t far behind, though, getting 31.7 cubic feet in the trunk and up to 72.4 cubic feet of total cargo space. The Bronco absolutely took notes from the Wrangler’s successful design, but the Bronco innovates further. For example, the Bronco mounts your mirrors to the base of the body instead of the door, ensuring you can still access them when you go off-road. You’ll also find other, thoughtful features in the cabin, like a rack on the dash for you to mount a GoPro or smartphone. The Wrangler’s interior is rough around the edges, which appeals to plenty of people, but we think the Bronco offers more features and livability.

Jeep Wrangler vs. Ford Bronco Features and Pricing

Both the Wrangler and Bronco have a variety of trim options to choose from, with more basic, budget-friendly options and top-trim levels that put luxury sedans to shame. You’ll find features like heated seats, leather trim, and dual-zone climate control complement both models’ off-road features. The Wrangler is the most affordable of the two, with entry-level models starting at $32,690 and top-end models reaching $64,885. The Bronco starts at $37,995, running up to $75,635. If you spring for the top-of-the-line Ford Bronco Raptor, though, you’ll be looking at a price tag closer to $90,000. While the Jeep is more affordable, the Bronco typically remains in the same range, considering the added features and plusher cabin. Visit Ford dealership in OKC to learn more about the 2025 Bronco.
